Kia launched the model year change versions of its flagship sedans, 'The 2026 K5' and 'The 2026 K8,' on the 19th. It features a new trim called 'Best Selection,' which is equipped with various customer-preferred specifications as standard.
Kia reflected a large number of core safety and convenience specifications from higher trims and popular options in the Best Selection while minimizing the price burden on customers, thus satisfying both practicality and rationality. The Best Selection trim of the 2026 K5 offers enhanced product appeal based on the Prestige trim, providing a comfortable travel experience.
Kia has incorporated advanced driver assistance features as standard in the Best Selection trim of the 2026 K5, including forward collision-avoidance assist (for cross traffic/head-on collisions), rear side collision-avoidance assist (when exiting forward), rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control (stop & go), safe exit assist, navigation-based smart cruise control (for safe sections on highways/expressways), and highway driving assist.
Additionally, it has applied projection LED headlamps and LED rear combination lamps to enhance design quality and has made suede headlining, power seats for the driver and front passenger, a relaxation comfort seat for the front passenger, and a walk-in device for the front passenger standard to provide a comfortable and pleasant travel experience.
Moreover, it has improved overall product appeal by adding convenience features such as a hi-pass system, independently controlled full automatic air conditioning, an air purification system, auto defogging, and a rain sensor.
The Best Selection trim of the 2026 K8 is based on the Noblesse Light trim, featuring standard equipment such as 18-inch front-processing wheels, double-glazed soundproof glass for the rear seats, dynamic ambient lighting, and suede headlining, thereby enhancing the premium feel of both the interior and exterior.
It also completed the luxury sedan's character with premium convenience features such as a surround view monitor, rear side monitor, remote smart parking assist, a smart power trunk, a wireless charging system for smartphones (dual), ventilated seats for the front passenger, auto defogging, as well as safety functions including rear parking collision-avoidance assist and lateral parking distance warning.
Kia improved the specification configurations of existing trims in line with the launch of the new trims for the 2026 K8.
The Signature trim comes with standard features that enhance driving convenience and safety, including forward collision-avoidance assist (including functions for cross traffic/lateral approaching cars/vehicles coming from the opposite side while overtaking/avoidance steering assist), rear side collision-avoidance assist (when exiting forward/driving), rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control (linked to driving style), navigation-based smart cruise control (for entrances and exits on highways/expressways), and highway driving assist 2 (including lane change assist).
Furthermore, it has reorganized the specification configuration to reflect customer preferences by making built-in cam 2, augmented reality navigation, fingerprint authentication systems, safe exit assist, electronic child locks, and rear passenger alerts (sensor type) standard.
The 3.5 LPG taxi trim offers newly available 18-inch front-processing wheels as an optional selection, expanding the choices available to customers.
