Small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners expressed their position welcoming the government's preparation of the second supplementary budget.
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises noted in a commentary on the 19th that "over 1 million small business owners and self-employed individuals closed their businesses last year, and more than 200,000 have closed as of February this year, experiencing significant difficulties," and added, "We hope this supplementary budget will serve as a spark to revitalize domestic demand by focusing on supporting small businesses and vulnerable groups."
The small and medium-sized enterprise sector plans to leverage this supplementary budget to promote campaigns aimed at revitalizing domestic demand, such as expanding purchases of regional love gift certificates and Onnuri gift certificates and spending summer vacations domestically, thereby contributing to the recovery of small business vitality.
The small business federation also expressed its support in a commentary on the same day, stating, "This supplementary budget plan has paved the way for small business owners experiencing the worst crisis ever to overcome their difficulties."
The small business federation particularly stated, "This supplementary budget plan includes a special debt adjustment package policy for small business owners to stabilize people's livelihoods," and expressed support for policies such as the purchase and disposal of long-term overdue debts amounting to 16 trillion won, the expansion of the Fresh Start Fund, the implementation of the earnest recovery program, and debt adjustments in the banking sector.
Meanwhile, the government prepared a supplementary budget containing a plan for additional expenditures amounting to 20.2 trillion won to support self-employed individuals and small business owners facing closure due to sluggish private consumption.
