Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 18th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Lockheed Martin to expand strategic cooperation at the 2025 Paris International Air Show held at Le Bourget Airport in Paris, France on the 17th (local time).
Through this agreement, KAI plans to establish a system to proactively respond to changes in the future defense and aerospace industry paradigms, while expanding and strengthening its strategic partnership in various areas including technology development, export cooperation, and new market exploration.
The two companies will strengthen joint marketing activities to enter the U.S. market through the U.S. Navy Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS). They will also actively promote business activities such as discovering cooperation opportunities in new technology fields, including rotorcraft, manned and unmanned combined systems, drones, AI-based autonomous systems, space, training systems, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), and performance enhancements.
A KAI official noted, “We will expand cooperation not only in existing projects but also in future new technology fields and jointly discover new business opportunities.”
