Hyundai Motor Company's high-performance brand 'Hyundai N' announced on the 17th that it will participate in the '2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race' held in the Nürburgring area of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, from the 19th to the 22nd (local time).

The Nürburgring 24 Hours is a race competition that measures total distance covered over 24 hours on the Nürburgring circuit, considered one of the most grueling race tracks in the world. It is the only 24-hour endurance race in which only racing cars developed based on production vehicles can participate.

This year marks Hyundai's 10th consecutive participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, aiming to complete the race. Since its first entry in 2016, it has successfully completed the race for nine consecutive years until last year, especially winning the TCR class, where the Elantra N TCR participated, for four consecutive years (2021-2024).

The Nürburgring circuit, which is over 25 km long, features a height difference of up to 300 meters and comprises around 170 corners, has an average completion rate of only 60-70%. As a harsh and rugged course, it serves as a testing ground for production vehicles of automakers, including Hyundai.

Hyundai aims to prove the durability and driving performance of Hyundai N by participating in two classes at this event. The Elantra N TCR will compete in the 'TCR class,' which features front-wheel touring racing cars with an engine displacement of less than 2000cc, while the Elantra N1 Cup Car (racing vehicle) will take part in the 'SP3T class,' which includes vehicles based on production cars with engine displacements of less than 2000cc, with minimal tuning. This marks the first entry of the Elantra N1 Cup Car in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Park Jun-woo, executive director of Hyundai N Management, noted, 'The Nürburgring circuit is the cradle of Hyundai N's meaning, embedded in the phrase “Born in Namyang, Honed in Nürburgring,” and it is a stage where we can further enhance the technical completeness of high-performance N.' He expressed hope that it would serve as an opportunity to showcase the exceptional durability of Hyundai N models.
