The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups announced on the 12th that it generated a total sales of 436.6 billion won during the May joint festival.
This joint festival featured 130 online and offline distribution channels participating, with 22,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners selling products through curated exhibitions. For the first time, sales events were held in four major regional hubs: Incheon, Sejong, Naju, and Chuncheon.
Private corporations also actively participated in collaborative efforts. Major platform corporations such as Coupang and Lotte On conducted special promotions for outstanding small business products selected through an open call. Kakao (Talk Deal) and Baedal Minjok (Pickup Discount) also hosted various consumer events to promote collaboration.
The local sales events held in 22 locations across the country attracted about 2 million visitors. A video featuring ambassador singer 'Shawn' reached a cumulative view count of 3.6 million, with 180,000 website visitors, and 40,000 participants in the prize, review verification, and discount events.
In conjunction with this festival, 830,000 people received reimbursement benefits during the digital Onnuri gift certificate refund event.
Shinsa Gang, a corporation participating in the online event, recorded sales of 400 million won, marking a 25% increase compared to the same month last year, while Find Products also achieved sales of 300 million won.
Choi Won-young, head of the Small Business Policy Office at the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, said, "I sincerely thank the small business owners, small and medium-sized enterprises, and all citizens for participating in the May joint festival," adding, "We will prepare to discover outstanding small business products and promote them widely to invigorate the livelihood economy through sales promotion for the September festival."
