The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises announced on the 11th that it has appointed former Vice Minister Oh Gi-woong as the new full-time vice president.

Born in 1973, Oh Gi-woong graduated from Samsung High School in Seoul and the Department of Economics at Yonsei University, and pursued a master's degree in public administration at Colorado State University.

After entering public service through the 39th Administrative Exam, he served as Director General for Policy Planning, Director for Venture Innovation Policies, Director for Startup Promotion Policies, Director for Global Growth Policies, Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination, and Vice Minister at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. In March 2022, he was also dispatched to the Presidential Transition Committee.

KBIZ Chairman Kim Gi-moon said, "Oh Gi-woong has accumulated diverse administrative experience and expertise in the field of small and medium enterprise policies for over 30 years, earning a reputation as a policy expert," adding that "he played a leading role in improving systems for the growth and innovation of small and medium enterprises as well as in formulating policies centered around on-site needs."

He added that he is expected to play a key role in leading responses to major policy issues related to small and medium enterprises and strengthening collaboration with the government, the National Assembly, and related agencies.
