Hyundai Motor has unveiled the key specifications and prices of the 'The all-new NEXO (hereinafter NEXO)' and will start sales on the 10th.
The NEXO, Hyundai Motor's hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), is a newly introduced complete model change that symbolizes the company’s hydrogen energy vision and innovation in environmentally friendly mobility, featuring a robust and sleek forward-looking style that encompasses urban and outdoor settings, a maximum driving range of 720 km on a single charge, a power performance based on a maximum motor output of 150 kW, and class-leading safety and convenience specifications.
NEXO expands its existing single trim operation to three trims, with prices as follows: ▲ Exclusive 76.44 million won ▲ Exclusive Special 79.28 million won ▲ Prestige 83.45 million won. (※ Prices are based on after-tax benefits)
If government subsidies of 22.5 million won and local government subsidies of about 7 million to 15 million won are fully received, it is expected that the starting price will be around 38.94 million won. (※ Local government subsidies vary by region, with the maximum subsidy guidelines differing by local government)
Along with the start of NEXO sales, Hyundai Motor has also launched the 'NEXO Every Care' program, which includes support for purchase and maintenance costs, as well as guarantees for used car residual values.
When purchasing the NEXO, Hyundai Motor will provide a 'Hydrogen Charging Cost Support Benefit' for up to 55% support for hydrogen charging fees for two years (up to 55,000 won per month) and a 'Trade-in' program that offers a discount of 3 million won to customers who purchase the new NEXO after selling their certified used NEXO.
Additionally, while driving the NEXO, there is a 'Emergency Delivery' service that provides towing assistance up to 100 km in case of low hydrogen levels (twice a year for five years), a free inspection service called 'Blue Safe Inspection' covering 15 inspection items (once a year for eight years), and warranties such as 'Warranty Repair' for general parts for 3 years or 60,000 km and exclusive parts for 10 years or 160,000 km.
It operates a 'Used Car Residual Value Guarantee' program that ensures a residual value of up to 68% of the purchase price within three years from the time of sale.
First unveiled at the '2025 Seoul Mobility Show' last month, the NEXO reflects Hyundai Motor's new design language 'Art of Steel', emphasizing the natural elasticity of steel and the strength and beauty conveyed by the material itself. The interior is designed to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere, resembling a cozy living space.
The digital side mirror (DSM) is integrated on the side of the crash pad to enhance design completeness, and a vision roof specification that applies fixed glass across the entire roof has been added to secure openness. Top-class convenience specifications have been applied, including the Hyundai AI Assistant, a biometric authentication system for the interior (for personalization, starting, payment, etc.), Digital Key 2, Built-In Cam 2 Plus, V2L for the interior, V2L for the exterior (connectorless type), audio by Bang & Olufsen premium sound, and intelligent headlamp (IFS).
The NEXO has made remarkable advancements not only in unique design and superior practicality but also in power performance.
Hyundai Motor has applied a 150 kW electric motor to the NEXO and increased the output of the hydrogen fuel cell stack, which can be described as the heart of the hydrogen electric vehicle, to 94 kW, while the output of the high-voltage battery has been boosted to 80 kW, enabling the vehicle to reach speeds from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. The hydrogen storage tank has been enhanced with high-performance composite materials to increase hydrogen storage capacity to 6.69 kg.
The NEXO has achieved the world's highest driving range for a passenger hydrogen electric vehicle on a single charge, reaching a maximum of 720 km with a short charging time of approximately 5 minutes. (※ Based on 18-inch tires, Exclusive trim, and the Ministry of Industry's combined reported fuel efficiency of 107.6 km/kg)
Hyundai Motor has reinforced the body structure of the NEXO by applying a front multi-skeleton structure and significantly expanding the use of hot-stamping and high-strength materials, securing the highest level of collision safety performance. Alongside this, various safety features such as Pedal Misoperation Safety Assist (PMSA), a 9-airbag system, a multi-collision prevention automatic braking system, and a driver monitoring system are widely installed.
Hyundai Motor has also incorporated a 'Route Planner' function, which includes real-time information on the hydrogen charging infrastructure across the nation, covering 214 locations, to enhance customer convenience regarding hydrogen charging.
The Route Planner assesses the driving feasibility to the destination set by the customer based on the current hydrogen levels, providing real-time information such as the operational status of hydrogen charging stations, the status of waiting vehicles, and whether charging is available, guiding optimal routes that alleviate charging stress.
