On the 10th, South Chungcheong Province and the Small and Medium Business Ombudsman announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding for 'regulatory innovation for sustainable small and medium businesses' at the South Chungcheong Provincial Office situation room.

The main contents of the agreement include ▲joint promotion of regulatory innovation ▲establishing and operating a regulatory improvement cooperation system ▲sharing and investigating regulatory information and cases ▲coordinating promotional activities.

Through this agreement, South Chungcheong Province plans to strengthen the competitiveness of local corporations and invigorate the regional economy by improving unreasonable systems in collaboration with the Small and Medium Business Ombudsman, a regulatory improvement specialist.

Kim Tae-heum, the governor of South Chungcheong Province, noted, “The province is a hub for advanced industries such as semiconductors, displays, and future vehicles, where large corporations and small and medium businesses form a robust industrial ecosystem,” adding, “Together with the Small and Medium Business Ombudsman, a regulatory improvement specialist, we will break down unreasonable regulations to enhance corporate competitiveness.”

Over the past two years, South Chungcheong Province has improved a total of 229 regulations across five areas, including the local government property ordinance and building regulations, achieving the third highest regulatory improvement results among 17 metropolitan governments nationwide.

The Ombudsman stated, “To attract and enable corporations to grow during the promotion of strategic industries in South Chungcheong Province, such as developing a bay valley and transitioning to carbon neutrality and energy, bold regulatory innovation is necessary,” and added, “We will closely collaborate with South Chungcheong Province to achieve notable regulatory improvement results that can strengthen the competitiveness of businesses in the region.”
