Doosan Enerbility announced on the 9th that it has signed a construction contract for the Omon 4 gas combined cycle power plant with Vietnam's largest state-owned enterprise, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN). The size of this contract is approximately 900 billion won.

The Omon 4 gas combined cycle power plant is planned to have a total generation capacity of 155 MW (megawatts) and is scheduled for completion in 2028, located 180 kilometers southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Doosan Enerbility, which has formed a consortium with PECC2, a Vietnamese power plant construction company, will be responsible for the main equipment supply, construction, and comprehensive commissioning of the Omon 4 gas combined cycle power plant.

Doosan Enerbility signed a total of five overseas gas combined cycle power plant construction projects this year, including in Qatar in February and Saudi Arabia in March. The total size amounts to 4.3 trillion won.

Lee Hyun-ho, head of the plant EPC BG at Doosan Enerbility, said, "Our experience of successfully completing multiple projects in Vietnam led to this contract." He noted, "Vietnam plans to expand gas combined cycle power plants with a maximum capacity of 37.4 GW (gigawatts) by 2030. We will actively pursue further contracts."
