There is a number that immediately reveals why those who know the dimensions of the Volkswagen Golf call this car a "hot hatch." That number is "245 horsepower."

This car is equipped with a high-performance engine that produces 245 horsepower. It is the heart of the legend of hot hatches.

Volkswagen Korea launched the performance icon hot hatch "The new Golf GTI" in the domestic market on the 9th, equipped with advanced driving assistance system "IQ.Drive" and intelligent lighting system "IQ.Light" as standard, in line with the latest trends.

The Golf GTI is Volkswagen's best-selling hatchback and the high-performance version of the Golf, which has sold over 2.3 million units worldwide since its first production in 1976. It pioneered the "hot hatch" genre with a compact body and powerful driving performance, leading to the popularization of performance cars, and it remains one of the most popular hot hatch models globally.

The new Golf GTI introduced to the Korean market is the 8th generation facelift model. Like the new Golf launched in March, it features a new design that enhances its presence, a next-generation MIB4 infotainment system that maximizes intuitive usability and convenience, and enhanced convenience features that achieve a balance of daily driving comfort and thrilling performance. Last year, the Golf GTI recorded sales of 540 units in the Korean market, ranking first in imported high-performance hatchback sales, and achieving the second-highest sales since the establishment of Volkswagen Korea.

Till Scheer, CEO of Volkswagen Group Korea, noted, "The Golf GTI can be said to be a model that symbolizes 'the joy of driving' that Volkswagen has pursued, going beyond simply being a car. The new Golf GTI is a model that presents once again the standard of authentic hot hatches through its most evolved performance and heritage," and added, "With the growing interest of Korean customers in high-performance models, we expect the 'original hot hatch' new Golf GTI to provide true driving pleasure."

The new Golf GTI combines the sporty style unique to Golf GTI with Volkswagen's latest design language, completing a bold and charismatic design.

The front features a new type of IQ.Light LED matrix headlamp. The clean yet impactful new headlamps create a cohesive look at the front with the GTI red strip and radiator grille lighting. A new bumper design further emphasizes the presence of the vehicle, along with the iconic honeycomb grille air intake of the Golf GTI. The front bumper is equipped with GTI-specific LED front fog lights, maximizing the sporty feel.

The new Golf GTI features a front illuminated logo for the first time. The illumination in the shape of the Volkswagen emblem adds a modern touch, creating an intense image of the Golf GTI on the road and enhancing its presence even in the dark.

On the side, a new GTI side logo badge is attached to the front door, completing a clean silhouette, and newly designed 19-inch "Queenstown" wheels are fitted, adding to the heritage and performance feel of the Golf GTI. Additionally, a new black roof two-tone color has been applied to emphasize the integration with the panoramic sunroof.

At the rear, the IQ.Light 3D LED rear combination lamps add modern light graphics and allow drivers to choose from three animation effects for the welcome and goodbye lights based on their preferences.

The new Volkswagen Golf GTI has introduced an interior design and specifications that incorporate performance sensibility based on Golf's forward-looking and refined interior layout.

The seats are especially noteworthy. The new Golf GTI comes standard with premium sports seats in Vienna leather. The seats, composed of Soul Black and Tornado Red two-tone colors, offer front seat heating and ventilation, as well as heating for the second row, and are equipped with power adjustment and memory functions on the driver's side, along with power lumbar support, ensuring an optimal driving position.

Notably, the new steering wheel features physical buttons that allow intuitive operation of functions while focusing on driving.

At the center of the interior, decorated with aluminum deco trim, is the 12.9-inch next-generation MIB4 infotainment system. The wide display of the MIB4 infotainment system not only offers excellent visibility but also allows intuitive control of key functions and systems through touchscreen operation. Moreover, users can customize frequently used menus directly on the three-part interface, enhancing ease of use. The lower slider has also been improved to an 'illuminated touch slider', making it easy to operate even in dark environments.

The MIB4 infotainment system offers wireless app connect and navigation features, and Volkswagen's voice assistant 'IDA' and the new voice enhancement system 'Voice Enhancer' come standard across all models. Volkswagen's advanced voice recognition assistant 'IDA' can control the vehicle using natural language as if talking to a person. Drivers can operate various functions such as phone, radio, media, ambient light, air conditioning, and driving modes in a conversational manner. The voice assistance system, 'Voice Enhancer,' helps facilitate smooth communication between the driver and rear seat passengers during driving through the hands-free microphone and rear seat speakers.

The new Volkswagen Golf GTI maximizes the convenience of daily driving and enhances safety by incorporating a variety of advanced specifications that transcend its class.

The advanced driving assistance system 'IQ.Drive' comes standard. IQ.Drive is a cutting-edge driver assistance system that integrates and controls various driving assistance functions to aid in safer and more comfortable journeys.
