Park Sang-hoon, CEO of Dongkuk CM, received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit on the 9th for his contributions to the development of the steel industry during the 26th Iron Day.
On this day, Park received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the 26th Iron Day and the 50th anniversary celebration of the Korea Iron & Steel Association held at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samsung-dong, Seoul. The Iron & Steel Association commemorates June 9, when the first molten iron was produced in a modern domestic blast furnace, as 'Iron Day.'
Dongkuk CM explained that Park was recognized for his efforts to expand the export of color steel sheets and contribute to the growth of the steel industry.
Park joined Dongkuk Steel Mill Group in 1993 and has spent about 32 years in production and sales across the institutional sector, developing high-value-added color steel sheets such as Luxteel and Appsteel.
Park plans to focus on redefining the 'DK Color Vision 2030' to ensure sustainable growth amid the protracted steel industry downturn, with goals of stabilization and synergy creation following the acquisition of AJU Steel.
Park stated, 'I believe it is thanks to the staff of Dongkuk CM who have worked together with one heart and one mind for the development of the steel industry, and I will do my best to promote Korean steel exports through the development of high-value-added steel materials.'
On this day, four employees of Dongkuk Steel Mill Group were also selected as commendable figures for Iron Day. Yoo Jeong-min, the deputy chief researcher of the steelmaking research team at Dongkuk Steel Mill's Pohang plant, received the 'Steel Technology Award' from the Iron & Steel Association, while Kim Jun-hee, logistics team leader at Dongkuk Steel Mill's Pohang plant, Sung Jun-ho, head of the plate research team at Dongkuk Steel Mill's Dangjin plant, and Lee Jae-hak, deputy manager of the steelmaking team at Dongkuk Steel Mill's Incheon plant, received commendations from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
