Delta Air Lines announced on the 5th that Athar Khan has been appointed as the Asia-Pacific Global Sales Director.

Director Khan is expected to lead the joint venture (JV) cooperation between Korean Air and Delta Air Lines. The company explained that it will enhance support for corporate and business travel customers.

In the aviation industry, a joint venture refers to a top-level cooperative relationship where major routes are jointly operated like a single company, sharing revenue and expenses. Delta Air Lines holds 14.90% equity in Hanjin KAL, the holding company of Korean Air.

Director Khan has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He leads the Delta Air Lines sales specialist team, based in Seoul, which operates in major Asia-Pacific markets such as Japan, China, and Taiwan. He also manages general sales agent contracts throughout Southeast Asia.
