Daedong Group’s artificial intelligence (AI) robotics and mobility corporation Daedong Mobility announced on the 5th that it will launch the electric scooter 'GS100 Lite Plug-in.'
The domestic electric scooter market is divided into two types based on the charging method: the 'battery exchange' method, where users pay a fee at battery exchange stations (BSS) to replace used batteries, and the 'plug-in' method, where charging accessories are used to charge at home with 220V.
The newly launched GS100 Lite Plug-in can use a charging cable to connect the battery attached to the scooter's body to a home 220V outlet, or the battery can be removed from the body and charged on a dedicated stand. It takes 4 hours to fully charge, with a maximum driving range of 60.6 km. The core components of the electric scooter are made with domestic parts, achieving a localization rate of 92%.
Daedong Mobility has launched a Special Edition (SE) model that reflects various customer preferences in driving convenience and design for the GS100 (standard and shared types) and GS100 Lite. The SE model protects users from wind, dust, and rain during driving compared to existing models and reduces fatigue during long-distance travel.
Moon Jun-ho, head of the mobility business division at Daedong Mobility, said, 'We decided to launch the GS100 Lite Plug-in to expand our market share to areas outside Seoul and Gyeonggi and to meet various customer preferences,' and added, 'We plan to increase our sales outlets from 70 to 110 by September to enhance our domestic customer touchpoints and market dominance.'
