Lotus Technology Inc. (hereinafter 'Lotus Tech'), a company holding the sales rights and technology R&D for electric vehicles of Lotus Cars, announced its 2024 ESG report, revealing its vision for sustainable development and innovative environmentally friendly products.

The report, which received independent third-party verification from TÜV NORD, clearly demonstrates Lotus Cars' global leadership in the field of environmentally friendly mobility. Notable advancements from Lotus in this report are identified in areas such as innovative green products, green manufacturing excellence, and global sustainability implementation.

The development of innovative green products and Lotus' most notable achievement is the unveiling of the concept car Theory 1. Emphasizing advanced technology, minimized materials, and sustainable development, Theory 1 epitomizes Lotus' innovation.

For example, contrasting with typical cars that use an average of over 100 exterior panels, Theory 1 set a goal of employing only 10 panels, termed the 'Challenge of 10.' This is regarded as an innovative achievement, satisfying performance, lightweight, and sustainable characteristics while achieving a 90% material saving compared to industry standards.

In the area of green manufacturing excellence, the Lotus Global Smart Factory received the prestigious 'Leading-Zero Carbon Factory' certification, recognizing its efforts towards carbon neutrality and sustainable production practices.

The smart factory is a state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing facility aiming for 100% environmentally friendly power usage by 2025. It is also recognized for implementing various measures to ensure excellent energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Regarding global sustainability implementation, Lotus demonstrated its commitment to leading global climate action by actively participating in the 2024 World Economic Forum's Nature Positive Transition report series.

As a result of these efforts, the company was recognized for sustainability and responsible business performance by winning the 2024 Reuters Sustainability Award and the EU Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Business Award.

A representative from Lotus Tech noted, "The 2024 ESG report of Lotus Tech embodies Lotus' firm commitment to leading sustainable change and creating a better future for all," and added, "Going forward, Lotus will strive to provide eco-friendly solutions and foster a more sustainable world through advanced innovation, responsible manufacturing, and active participation in global sustainability."

Meanwhile, Lotus Cars Korea has recently introduced a groundbreaking 'electric vehicle new car exchange program,' garnering significant attention from luxury electric vehicle customers. This program, introduced as the first among import car brands, offers a service where, if a fire occurs suddenly while the Lotus electric vehicle is parked or in a charging state, customers can instantly exchange it for the same new car they were driving. Through this program, Lotus Cars Korea implements its philosophy of prioritizing customer safety, alongside demonstrating the leadership Lotus has shown in global sustainability.
