Stellantis announced on the 29th, Korea time, that it has appointed Antonio Filosa as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Antonio Filosa will officially take on the role of CEO starting June 23. Stellantis plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders soon to elect him as a board member.
Antonio Filosa is a veteran with over 25 years of diverse practical experience and leadership in the automotive industry, particularly demonstrating excellence in understanding global markets and brand expansion strategies.
Antonio Filosa has led Fiat to become the market leader in South America and strengthened the positions of major brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep®. His key achievements include spearheading the successful localization of the Jeep® brand through the establishment of the Pernambuco plant in Brazil.
Since being appointed CEO of Jeep® in 2023, he has increased the brand’s visibility in Europe by promoting popular models such as the Avenger, and in December 2024, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) overseeing North and South America. He has since driven various structural innovations, including organizational restructuring, inventory adjustments, and the introduction of new vehicles and powertrains within the United States.
John Elkann is expected to retain his position as Chairman of the Board after the new CEO's appointment, and Antonio Filosa is set to announce a new global leadership team soon.
