The defense cost management system certification system has been in operation since 2012 for fair and transparent cost management of defense materials. If a defense company receives this certification, it can obtain additional profits as an incentive for defense materials.

To obtain certification, the defense company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system must be able to automatically transmit cost information managed by the system to the defense integrated cost system. It must also faithfully submit cost data related to contracts exceeding a certain amount.

Since the implementation of the certification system, 12 defense companies in the ground and aerospace sectors have received certification, and this is the first case for HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in the shipbuilding sector.

A representative from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries noted, "This certification acquisition is expected to contribute to enhancing the credibility and order competitiveness of K-ships not only in the domestic market but also in the global ship market," adding, "It is significant not only for securing additional profits but also for being recognized for transparent and systematic cost management by national institutions."
