Hyundai Motor's electrified flagship SUV 'Ionic 9' has been selected as the official vehicle of the Dutch Embassy in South Korea.
Hyundai Motor held an official vehicle handover ceremony for the Ionic 9 on the 27th at its Asan plant, attended by Peter van der Vliet, the Dutch Ambassador to South Korea, Kim Il-beom, Vice President of Hyundai Motor GPO, and Park Se-guk, Executive Director of the Hyundai Motor Asan plant.
The Netherlands is evaluated as a leading country in electrification with the highest level of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Europe. In line with this interest and support for eco-friendly vehicles, the Dutch Embassy has decided to replace its exclusive vehicle for the ambassador in South Korea with an electric vehicle for the first time.
The Ionic 9, selected as the official vehicle of the Dutch Embassy in South Korea, is expected to be used as a means of transportation for the Dutch ambassador during official events and duties.
The Ionic 9, introduced by the Dutch Embassy this time, is a flagship model of the electric vehicle brand Ionic, based on the E-GMP platform, which is a large electrified SUV.
The Ionic 9 features a sleek and clean exterior and offers class-leading interior space, equipped with a 110.3 kWh battery, achieving the longest range of 532 km on a single charge among Hyundai Motor's electric vehicle lineup. (※ Based on combined driving range with 19-inch wheels and 2WD)
The Ionic 9 has also been recognized as 'Best seven seat EV' at the 2025 TopGear.com Electric Awards, hosted by TopGear, based on its outstanding technology and excellent design.
