The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Korea International Exhibition Corporation will hold 'Cosmo Beauty Seoul, K Beauty Festa' for three days from 28th to 30th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
This year, it will be the largest ever, led by the private sector with government support through collaboration between the public and private sectors. The number of overseas buyers is approximately doubling compared to last year, with 161 companies from 51 countries, including the United States, Europe, and China, participating.
A total of 441 corporations in the K Beauty sector will participate in exhibition and consultation booths set up in COEX Hall A and lobby areas. There will also be a special pavilion where visitors can experience products from 14 outstanding beauty corporations awarded 'Rookie of the Year,' as well as group pavilions from Bucheon Industrial Promotion Agency, Jeju Technopark, and Incheon Technopark.
In particular, during the fair, pre-matching will be supported for overseas buyers, such as the large beauty distributor Yes Sales from the Americas and Superdrug from the UK, targeting participating companies to facilitate over 1,800 B2C (business-to-consumer) transactions and promote exports and overseas expansion of K Beauty small and medium-sized enterprises.
Additionally, private organizations such as The K Beauty Science and Cosin will participate during the fair, holding seminars on various topics, including global trends in the cosmetics industry, overseas certification systems, and marketing strategies, to share information and provide networking opportunities. Various events, including makeup demonstrations by global creators and prize giveaways for general attendees, will also be held.
Minister Oh Youngju said, 'Last year, the export of small and medium-sized enterprise cosmetics achieved $6.8 billion (approximately 9.3 trillion won), establishing itself as the number one export item for small and medium-sized enterprises.' He noted, 'This achievement was possible because there is a strong private ecosystem where anyone with innovative ideas and marketing capabilities can easily enter the market.'
Minister Oh also stated, 'The rapidly growing K Beauty industry must present new standards in the global market through innovations fused with advanced technologies such as AI, bio, and eco-friendly materials,' adding, 'We will support small and medium-sized exporters so that they can continue to enhance their competitiveness without being shaken by global environmental changes.'
