HD Hyundai's intermediate holding company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, recently announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract to build two 18,000-ton (t) liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels for a European shipping company.
The total contract amount is 270.6 billion won, and HD Hyundai Mipo will build the vessels, which are set to be delivered sequentially by the second half of 2027.
Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured a total of 55 vessels and $6.7 billion in orders, achieving 37.1% of its yearly order target of $18.05 billion.
By vessel type, this includes one LNG carrier, six LNG bunkering vessels, six liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, two ethane carriers, 34 container ships, and six tankers.
