The Kia EV3 has received the highest safety rating (★★★★★) from Euro NCAP. The safety evaluation is a very important indicator that affects consumer purchases.

Kia announced on the 23rd that the EV3 has obtained the highest rating of five stars (★★★★★) from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). The vehicle used in this evaluation is equipped with advanced driver assistance specifications, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), as part of the DriveWise ADAS Pack.

The EV3 has received high marks for maintaining a safe passenger space even during collision situations, effectively protecting occupants, and is equipped with various safety features, including a driver monitoring system.

In particular, this result adds significance as the EV3 has been recognized for its outstanding safety despite being in the subcompact class, which typically has lower crash safety performance, thanks to its solid body structure and various safety features.

Kia has ensured that all dedicated electric vehicle models that have undergone Euro NCAP evaluation, including the EV6 in 2022, and the EV9 in 2023, have achieved the highest rating, including the latest EV3.

The Euro NCAP test has been conducted since 1997 as Europe's new car assessment program, verifying the safety of vehicles sold in Europe and publishing results annually. The assessment criteria consist of four categories: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection, and safety assist systems, from which ratings are assigned based on the overall evaluation results.

Euro NCAP noted that the EV3 maintained a safe passenger space during frontal and side collision tests, effectively protecting the main body parts of all occupants. In particular, it received the highest score during side collision tests within the adult occupant protection assessment, and it also received excellent ratings for protecting all major body parts in the child occupant protection assessment.

Additionally, Euro NCAP highly praised the EV3 for being equipped with a system that monitors the driver's condition and automatically alerts an emergency rescue center in the event of an accident, as well as a multi-collision brake system designed to prevent further accidents during collisions.

Kia has expanded the application of ultra-high-strength hot-stamping components in the EV3, optimizing the front structural components to ensure energy is dissipated during collisions while reinforcing the key materials and structures that compose the passenger compartment.

In addition, the EV3 is equipped with a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems, such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Avoidance Assist, Rear Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist 2, and Highway Driving Assist 2, to support safe and convenient driving for customers.

Pablo Martinez, managing director of product and marketing for Kia Europe, noted that "the EV3 is an incredibly versatile vehicle that supports a variety of customers' lifestyles" and added that "the results of this evaluation demonstrate that the EV3 is a safe vehicle for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike."

Based on its outstanding product competitiveness, the EV3 won the 'World Car of the Year,' one of the most prestigious automotive awards, in April, and has also been named the '2025 Car of the Year in the UK,' '2025 Car of the Year in Finland,' '2025 Car of the Year in Denmark,' '2025 World Women’s Car of the Year' in the compact SUV sector, 'Best Crossover' in the UK '2024 Top Gear Awards,' and 'Best Car Under 40,000 Euros' in the German '2024 Golden Steering Wheel Awards,' sweeping prestigious automotive awards.
