According to the report, the vehicle-to-everything (V2X) chipset market is projected to grow rapidly from $686.3 million (approximately 946.5 billion won) in 2022 to $23.9652 billion (approximately 33 trillion won) by 2031. In particular, the 5G-based V2X technology is expected to drive significant market expansion.

The report particularly mentioned the South Korean semiconductor startup Ettifos as a notable example in the interoperability verification of 5G-based V2X chipsets.

Ettifos's "Sirius 5G-V2X" solution successfully conducted Sidelink-based compatibility testing in 2024, led by Keysight Technologies, alongside the Secton3 chipset from the global automotive semiconductor company Autotalks.

The report evaluated this as "an important advancement that shows the level of readiness of chip manufacturers to support next-generation V2X services and applications." Such technological achievements are expected to enhance the stability of vehicle-to-vehicle communication and the completeness of autonomous driving support systems, serving as a catalyst for accelerating the commercialization of V2X communication.

Ettifos was also introduced in the report as a corporation that proposed an evolution strategy based on software-defined methodology for the transition from LTE-based systems to 5G-V2X in the analysis of the South Korean market.

The report stated, "Ettifos proposes a forward-looking and competitive V2X platform that enables a seamless upgrade from LTE to 5G without the need for equipment replacement."

According to "IndustryARC," the South Korean V2X chipset market is expected to expand from $46.3 million (approximately 63.9 billion won) in 2024 to $1.015 billion (approximately 1.4 trillion won) by 2031.

Ettifos is a semiconductor company specializing in vehicle communication, established in 2022, developing V2X chipsets based on software-defined modem (SDM) technology, and is set to commercially launch its 5G-V2X chipset in the second half of this year.
