On that day, Vice Chairman Cho attended the 7th APEC Preparatory Committee meeting hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Joo-ho at the Government Seoul Office as the chair of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). Cho stated he would convey the voice of corporations to the leaders of each country and strive for the successful hosting of APEC and the results of the summit.

Cho said, “We will do our best to produce tangible results, such as the activation of the APEC Business Travel Card, and to differentiate this Republic of Korea APEC from previous APECs, aiming for the so-called Gyeongju Declaration and the Republic of Korea Declaration.”

Cho requested the government’s cooperation in reflecting the ABAC recommendations to be adopted during this year’s summit in domestic policies. He also urged support for major improvement tasks to be actively pursued by other member countries.

Cho is scheduled to preside over the 3rd and 4th ABAC meetings in Vietnam and Busan respectively in July and October. During the APEC summit, which will be held in Gyeongju in October, opinions will be gathered through four ABAC meetings and conveyed to the leaders of each country.
