Dongkuk Steel Mill's subsidiary Dongkuk CM invited about 30 architects belonging to the Korea Institute of Architects to an event to introduce the premium color steel building material Luxsteel, it said on the 22nd.
The following morning, Dongkuk CM directly introduced Luxsteel application cases to architects at its headquarters in the Euljiro Ferum Tower. In the afternoon, it visited the Dosung Center located in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, to tour the entire process which is automatically produced through 3D design.
The Dosung Center is a specialized processing and construction hub for color steel sheets that was completed in April 2018. It produces building interior and exterior materials and fire doors in two buildings, the architectural building and the fire door building, constructed on a site of 29,807 square meters.
Dongkuk CM noted, "As Luxsteel, a steel material, has grown into a 'finished architectural finishing material' capable of processing and construction, this event was planned as a way to directly communicate with architects, the final purchasers of building materials."
Dongkuk CM is transforming from a steel material company into a building materials company. Last October, it exhibited Luxsteel at Korea's largest building industry exhibition, the Korea Architecture Industry Expo. At that time, Dongkuk CM explained it aims to become a building materials company that makes interior and exterior materials for buildings using steel.
