I and all employees will not forget that the mission of the Korea Startup Agency is to support the first steps towards the success of startup corporations and will dedicate ourselves to this glorious role.

Yoo Jong-pil, the head of the Korea Startup Agency, marked his second month in office on May 21 at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, where he held his first press conference since taking office. During the conference, Yoo shared his inauguration remarks, the agency's operational direction, key policy issues, and business management strategies.

Yoo noted, "I feel a sense of responsibility in my role as the head of the only startup-focused agency in South Korea responsible for innovation."

Yoo continued, stating that he aims to grow the agency as the only startup support specialized institution in South Korea focusing on four key tasks: realizing Startup Korea, strengthening data-driven policy services, enhancing the agency's status, and boosting international awareness and capabilities.

During his tenure, Yoo outlined plans to focus on nurturing startup corporations in emerging industries, support open innovation through collaboration between large corporations and startups, and globalize the startup ecosystem to attract overseas talent.

Yoo remarked, "In collaborative projects represented by TIPS, the role of excellent partners in cooperation with global companies and large corporations is crucial," adding, "We will discover more cooperative institutions to expand the scope of collaboration and provide high-quality support services to startup corporations."

He also mentioned plans to strengthen connections and collaboration among small institutions, using startup hubs and creative economy innovation centers as key focal points to revitalize regional startups.
