Hyundai Motor Company and Kia's lifestyle-oriented future mobility will be introduced at Walkerhill Hotel and Resort (hereinafter 'Walkerhill'). Hyundai Motor Company and Kia signed a business agreement on the 20th at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel (Gwangjin District, Seoul) to create a mobility-friendly hotel.

The two companies will work together to apply a demand-responsive transportation system shuttle platform to enhance visitor mobility convenience, create a test environment to verify future mobility technology within the hotel, and jointly promote specialized projects for local residents and those with mobility challenges.

Most notably, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will customize the shuttle platform for the internal and external shuttle services of Walkerhill Hotel. This is the first time that Hyundai Motor Company and Kia are testing the shuttle platform for corporations.

Walkerhill Hotel, equipped with a spacious area of about 480,000 square meters and hosting over 2 million visitors annually for relaxation and entertainment, has the optimal environment to serve as a testbed for various future mobility technologies.

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia plan to establish a verification environment for new technologies such as autonomous driving and micro-mobility within Walkerhill Hotel, and will continue their collaborative efforts to build a mobility ecosystem. Additionally, the two companies plan to jointly promote specialized projects to enhance the mobility of residents near the hotel and to facilitate convenient transportation for those with mobility challenges, based on data collected and verified technologies through the shuttle platform.

Kim Soo-young, executive director of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia's mobility business division, noted, "This collaboration signifies that Hyundai Motor Company's and Kia's solutions, which were primarily applied to public transportation, have expanded into the private market," adding, "We will take the lead in solving social problems based on technology by creating a mobility ecosystem that encompasses public and private sectors as well as academia."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia presented the Next Urban Mobility Alliance (NUMA) at 'Pleos 25' held in March, discussing mobility innovations at the urban and national levels. Following this agreement, Walkerhill Hotel and Resort will also participate in a council aimed at solving social issues through the creation of smart cities.
