The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises noted on the 13th that it held a meeting for small business owners invited by the Procurement Agency's Administrator.
This meeting was held to hear the difficulties faced by small and medium enterprises related to public procurement policy in celebration of the 37th Small Business Week and to prepare measures for system improvement.
During the meeting, small business owners proposed 22 difficulties that hinder their entry into the procurement market. They specifically requested to strengthen the effectiveness of the contract adjustment system due to price fluctuations, streamline the pricing decision system in the public procurement market, and improve the system for unfair sanctions. Additionally, they suggested clarifying the procurement classification for convergence products and expanding the Gyeonggi Procurement Support Center into the Gyeonggi Regional Procurement Agency.
Kim Gi-moon, president of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, said, "Among the 208 trillion won public procurement market, small and medium enterprises supply 135 trillion won, which is 64.6%. Thus, the public procurement market is very important for small and medium enterprises. Since small enterprises are facing difficulties in securing reasonable prices and facing excessive sanctions during procurement contracts, improvements to the system should be based on the opinions from small business sites."
