HD Hyundai XiteSolution announced on the 13th that it will launch electric forklifts with a capacity of up to 9 tons (t) in the global market this June. The new models include a total of eight types ranging from 4 to 9 tons. This is the first time a domestic manufacturer has released electric forklifts that exceed 5 tons.
The new model is equipped with a high-performance lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that enables up to 11 hours of continuous operation with a 1-hour charge (when selecting the 93 kWh battery option). It features an IP67 rating or higher for waterproof and dustproof design, making it operable even in harsh outdoor environments with frequent sea breezes and rain.
An official from HD Hyundai XiteSolution said, "We will lead the electrification of high-capacity work sites, such as shipyards, ports, and construction sites, where diesel forklifts are mainly used, and continuously expand our electric forklift lineup to enhance the competitiveness of domestic products."
According to the market research firm The Business Research Company, the global electric forklift market size is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 12% from $73 billion (approximately 102.34 trillion won) in 2025 to $114.9 billion (approximately 161.78 trillion won) by 2029.
