The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 12th that it will hold a check meeting for the successful hosting of the '2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting on SMEs' under the 'Ministry of SMEs and Startups APEC One Team.'

As the host country of APEC this year, South Korea is scheduled to hold a summit in Gyeongju, and ahead of this, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will host the 'APEC Ministerial Meeting on SMEs' with representatives from 21 APEC member countries from September 1 to 5 at the Jeju International Convention Center.

This check meeting is organized to review not only the official schedule, such as the Ministerial Meeting and working meetings but also to discuss the promotion strategies that aim to showcase the innovation of South Korea's SMEs, startups, and small businesses to the world.

In particular, events such as the 'Challenge K! Startup Opening Ceremony,' 'Grand Challenge Showcase,' and 'Global Venture Investment Forum' occurring from September 3 to 4 will be held as a unified brand event for startups called 'Global Startup Day in Jeju,' aimed at creating a networking platform for various stakeholders in the domestic and international startup ecosystems.

Moreover, during this check meeting, comprehensive reviews on the overall event, including the establishment of the international conference environment, accommodation facilities, transportation measures, publicity, protocol, and personnel support, will be conducted to ensure that ministers and officials from various countries visiting Jeju during the meeting period are welcomed without any disruptions.

Minister Oh Youngju of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups stated, 'I will prepare meticulously so that this Ministerial Meeting, held in Korea for the first time in 20 years, not only becomes the largest ever but also serves as an opportunity to promote policies for South Korea's SMEs and small businesses to the international community, and I will actively operate the 'Ministry of SMEs and Startups APEC One Team' system.'
