Last year, it was found that 33 of the top 500 corporations in the country by revenue were replaced. Samsung Electronics maintained its solid first place with revenue recovering to the 300 trillion won level, and SK hynix entered the 'top 10' in sales for the first time.

According to CEO Score from the Corporate Data Research Institute on the 11th, the results for selecting the top 500 corporations in the country by revenue in 2024 were based on domestic companies that disclosed financial information through the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system, with Samsung Electronics ranking first in revenue. Last year's revenue for Samsung Electronics was 300 trillion 87.09 billion won, which is an increase of 16.2% compared to the previous year, marking a return to the 300 trillion won level since 2022.

Hyundai Motor and Kia ranked second and third, respectively, with revenues of 175 trillion 231.2 billion won and 107 trillion 448.8 billion won. Kia surpassed the 100 trillion won mark for the first time. The combined revenue of the two companies was recorded at 282 trillion 680 billion won, which is about 18 trillion 190.9 billion won lower than Samsung Electronics.

The revenue rankings for Korea Electric Power Corporation (4th, 93 trillion 398.9 billion won) and LG Electronics (5th, 87 trillion 728.2 billion won) remained the same as last year. The Industrial Bank saw its revenue rise by 47.2% to 71 trillion 300 billion won compared to the previous year, climbing from 12th to 6th in the rankings.

SK hynix, with 66 trillion 193 billion won, saw its revenue double from the previous year's 33 trillion 427.3 billion won due to the high bandwidth memory effect, rising from 25th to 7th place.

In contrast, LG CHEM dropped five spots from 7th to 12th due to a decline in sales caused by worsening market conditions.

The revenue threshold for entering the top 500 corporations was 1 trillion 329.3 billion won, an increase of 324 million won (2.5%) from the previous year's 1 trillion 296.9 billion won. The total revenue for the top 500 corporations last year was 4,110 trillion 828.1 billion won, an increase of 5.3% compared to the previous year, and the operating profit was 283 trillion 317.3 billion won, a 40.3% increase.

The new entrants among the top 500 corporations included 33 companies, such as Hana Capital, OCI, Woowa Brothers, Dongkuk CM, LS Networks, and Daebang Construction, which is a decrease of 9 from the previous year’s 42.

On the other hand, SK Trading International, LS I&D, MS AUTOTECH, HD Hyundai Aromatics, Megazone Cloud, and Emart Everyday were excluded from the top 500 corporations. Among them, SK Trading International, HD Hyundai Aromatics, and Emart Everyday were dissolved due to mergers.

Conversely, seven companies, including CS WIND (428th → 238th), Korea Gold Exchange 3M (357th → 193rd), and Woome Construction (483rd → 325th), saw their revenue rankings rise by over 100 places compared to the previous year.

In contrast, nine companies, including L&F (158th → 350th), SK Eco Engineering (252nd → 415th), and Volvo Group Korea (313th → 467th), experienced a drop of over 100 rankings.
