Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, will visit Osaka, Japan, on the 13th. This will be his second visit to Japan in a little over a month following a business trip from the 2nd to the 9th of last month.
According to the business community on the 11th, Chairman Lee is expected to attend the 'Korea Day' event at the Osaka-Kansai World Expo (Osaka Expo) taking place on the 13th.
The Osaka Expo, which opened on the 13th of last month, features participation from 158 countries around the world and will run for six months under the theme 'Designing a Future Society Where Life Shines.'
It has been reported that Chairman Lee is set to attend the official Korea Day event on the 13th, which will be held during the 'Korea Week' at the Osaka Expo from the 13th to the 17th, alongside senior government officials representing the business community.
The business community believes that Chairman Lee will serve as a private diplomat, given his long-standing cooperative relationship with the Japanese business sector.
Additionally, it has been reported that Chairman Lee will visit the exhibition of the 'Korea Excellent Products Exhibition' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) at the Osaka Expo. Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor are known to have set up exhibition spaces at the Korea Excellent Products Exhibition.
