The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises announced on the 8th that it will hold 84 events for small and medium enterprises across 17 cities nationwide from the 12th to the 16th to coincide with the 37th "Small and Medium Enterprises Week."

Every year, the third week of May is designated as "Small and Medium Enterprises Week" under Article 26 of the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises, and this year’s theme is "Cheer up, small and medium enterprises! A revitalized Republic of Korea!"

Starting with the "Small and Medium Enterprises Love Sharing Concert" on the 8th, a discussion forum titled "Directions for Future Government Policies on Small and Medium Enterprises" will be held at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 12th.

At the forum, key figures from the Democratic Party of Korea, including Jin Sung-jun, head of its policy committee, and Kim Sang-hoon, head of the policy committee of the People Power Party, along with representatives from the small and medium enterprise sector, academia, and government, will discuss policy tasks the new government should prioritize to lead the economic revival of the Republic of Korea.

A "Meeting with the Commissioner of the Public Procurement Service" will be held to secure a transaction base for small and medium enterprises, along with a discussion forum on "Revitalization Plans for Cooperative Projects of Small and Medium Enterprises." In addition, various events such as the "Successful Small Business Field Clinic" in response to changes in the corporate management environment, an "EU Government Joint Explanation Session on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for Small and Medium Enterprises," and the "Yellow Umbrella Family Love Drawing and Poetry Contest" with the public will take place.

Kim Gi-moon, chairman of KBIZ, noted, "Customized policies for small and medium enterprises facing difficulties due to high interest rates, high tariffs, domestic stagnation, and low growth are urgently needed," and added, "With the upcoming presidential election, we plan to invite key figures from major political parties during Small and Medium Enterprises Week to propose policy tasks for small and medium enterprises in the next government."
