Renault Korea is set to target the South American market with the midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) Grand Koleos.
Renault Korea noted on the 8th that it had shipped the initial export volume of Grand Koleos to South America the previous day. The vehicles shipped for export totaled 894 units that will be sold in Mexico and Colombia.
In addition to Mexico and Colombia, Renault Korea plans to export the Grand Koleos to other major South American markets, including Brazil, Uruguay, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.
The Grand Koleos plans to expand exports to the African region starting from South America and the Middle East. Previously, in March, some of the pre-delivery volume for the Middle East was shipped.
The expansion of exports by Renault Korea is in accordance with Renault's "international game plan." The international game plan is a strategy to launch eight new models by 2027 from five global hubs, including Korea, India, South America, Turkey, and Morocco, targeting global markets outside of Europe.
