The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KOFCA announced that from the 8th to the 11th, they will hold the ‘K Collection’ in conjunction with ‘KCON JAPAN 2025’ in Tokyo, Japan.

K Collection is a consultation meeting and promotional event aimed at promoting and supporting exports of products from domestic outstanding small and medium enterprises in connection with the global Korean Wave culture festival ‘KCON’ hosted by CJ ENM.

Since 2014, it has been promoted as part of the support project for simultaneous entry of large and small businesses, providing opportunities for small and medium enterprises, which find it difficult to enter overseas markets, to meet local buyers and consumers. This year marks the 9th event in Japan, with a total of 346 small and medium enterprises participating, achieving export results of about 31.5 billion won.

This year, 39 small and medium enterprises in promising consumer goods sectors such as cosmetics, food, fashion, and content will participate in K Collection. In particular, support for the cosmetics and food sectors has been expanded compared to the previous year, and 19 enterprises, which have limited export experience, are expected to use this event as a stepping stone for entering the Japanese market.

On the first day of the event, the 8th, a one-on-one export consultation meeting with local distribution buyers will be held at the Tokyo International Forum. This consultation meeting has strengthened B2B support capabilities through collaboration with Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) by inviting buyers to the promotional event site to check local consumer responses in real-time and to promote the expansion of export results for small and medium enterprises.

From the 9th to the 11th, a promotional event for small and medium enterprise products will be held at the Makuhari Messe Exhibition Center in Chiba Prefecture, targeting KCON attendees. A joint promotional booth will be established in collaboration with the representative beauty platform ‘Powder Room,’ and various events and promotional activities will be planned to increase visitor turnout and brand awareness of participating companies.

The boy band ‘P1Harmony’ has been selected as the ambassador for K Collection Japan. P1Harmony received a warm response in Japan after successfully completing six performances in three cities during their first Japan tour last year.

At this event, pre-promotions through invitation videos based on popularity in Japan and events using ambassador fan goods will aim to attract local consumer interest and purchases. Products from participating small and medium enterprises can also be found in the K Collection planning exhibition at the Qoo10 official online mall until June 12.

The Ministry of SMEs and KOFCA plan to continue their role as a bridge for domestic small and medium enterprises entering the Japanese market through various online and offline channels even after the event ends.
