Hyundai Motor's premium brand Genesis announced on the 7th that it has released a promotional video showcasing advanced driving technology titled ‘Technology by GENESIS.’
The video released on various platforms includes the operating principles and effects of six representative technologies equipped in Genesis internal combustion engine vehicles.
First, the multi-chamber air suspension, which stores air, provides an appropriate ride and handling through active control. Instead of using traditional coil springs, it operates by absorbing vibrations and shocks with air springs. Genesis explained, 'When it detects situations requiring handling performance, it compresses the air inside the chamber to reduce the phenomenon of body roll.'
The rear-wheel steering system turns the vehicle's rear wheels up to 4 degrees in the opposite direction of the front wheels at low speeds, while adjusting within 2 degrees in the same direction as the front wheels at high speeds. This has the advantage of reducing the turning radius in situations such as U-turns and parking, and allows for agile maneuvering in emergency avoidance situations.
There is also a 3.5 turbo 48V electric supercharger, through which Genesis secured a maximum output of 415 horsepower and maximum torque of 56.0 kgf·m, and improved the 'turbo lag' phenomenon, which causes delayed response when pressing the accelerator below 1,750 rpm, by 53%.
The electronic limited-slip differential actively adjusts the rotational differences between the left and right wheels to aid in easily escaping rough terrain, and the active noise control technology generates sound waves in the opposite phase to road noise to reduce noise. The Sport Plus mode provides a dynamic driving experience.
