CJ Logistics announced on the 6th that it has established a foundation to provide delivery services throughout the Middle East through a partnership with NAKEL, which has a delivery network in the region.
NAKEL has around 5,000 branches and 84 delivery hubs across Saudi Arabia and provides delivery services in key Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Kuwait.
CJ Logistics expects to play a bridging role in assisting South Korean corporations with their expansion into the Middle East by partnering with local delivery services. It is anticipated that the Saudi Global Distribution Center (GDC), which recently entered pilot operation, will become fully operational in the second half of this year, completing the Middle East logistics hub system and enabling CJ Logistics' transnational logistics business.
The Saudi GDC is a large-scale fulfillment center capable of processing 15,000 boxes daily and handles e-commerce logistics for the Middle East.
Jang Young-ho, head of CJ Logistics' IFS Division, said, "With its own customs facilities and integrated logistics capabilities, the Saudi GDC has established a complete logistics operation system in the Middle East by securing local delivery partnerships, and we will actively enhance our e-commerce logistics business in the region while continuously expanding our global logistics territory."
