Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, visited the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, held in Shanghai, China, on Nov. 1.
According to the automobile industry on the 2nd, it has been seven years since Chairman Chung attended the motor show in China, following the 2018 Beijing Motor Show. Chairman Chung was reported to have visited the booths of top electric vehicle corporation BYD and top global battery corporation CATL, among other Chinese companies.
Recently, Hyundai Motor has been accelerating its penetration into the Chinese market. Hyundai plans to establish a lineup of six new energy vehicles targeting the Chinese market by 2027, starting with the compact electric sports utility vehicle "Ioniq."
The Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition is considered the largest automotive exhibition in the world. It runs until Dec. 2 at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center.
