On 2nd, the Technology Guarantee Fund announced that it will establish and implement a taxonomy evaluation guarantee to systematically foster green technology and the environmental industry.
The taxonomy evaluation guarantee is a specialized guarantee in the green sector that supports targets selected through the taxonomy evaluation system developed by the fund (hereinafter referred to as 'KTAS'). The fund has received $40 billion in grants from the climate response fund, making it the first guarantee institution to do so, and based on this, it plans to support $2.8 billion in guarantees this year.
Daesang refers to small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in green economic activities, with a limit of $3 billion for operating funds and $10 billion for facility funds per corporation. The fund applies favorable conditions such as ▲increased guarantee ratio (85% to a maximum of 95%) and ▲reduced guarantee fees (up to 0.4%p) to provide support.
In addition, the fund plans to alleviate the financial burden on corporations by providing guarantee fee support benefits of 0.7 percentage points for two years in connection with guarantee agreements with seven banks, including NongHyup, Woori, Shinhan, and Hana.
Previously, the fund established a cooperative system to support K-taxonomy-based green loan programs by signing a business agreement for the activation of K-taxonomy-linked green credit with seven banks on February.
Kim Jong-ho, chairman of the fund, noted, "The fund will lead green finance by introducing dedicated guarantee products for green technology and environmental industry corporations, and actively foster climate tech firms with excellent technologies." He added, "We will strengthen collaboration with the private sector to ensure that more funds flow into green projects and technologies by focusing on the accumulated capabilities in green technology evaluation."
