Hyundai Mobis announced on the 1st that it has launched a smart card key for all Genesis models through its online market 'Genesis Boutique.'
The smart card key is the size of a credit card with a thickness of 2.5 mm. It offers the same functions as the existing smart key. It supports opening the car door and trunk, remote start, and remote smart parking assist (RSPA). A key advantage is that, leveraging ultra-wideband wireless communication, it does not require direct contact with the vehicle when taken out of a pocket.
As the smart card key launched last year gained popularity, causing several sold-out incidents, Hyundai Mobis plans to expand the range of models that utilize the smart key. Starting in February this year with Hyundai's All-New Palisade and Ioniq 9, the smart card key will be applied to models including Sonata The Edge, All-New Kona, Kia's Tazman, and Sorento.
Hyundai Mobis said, "We will continue to improve the product quality of the smart card key and provide a special customer experience to vehicle owners with luxurious design and functions," adding, "We will offer a service to corporate vehicle customers to customize with logos and desired phrases."
