Jeju Air announced on the 1st that it will launch a new route from Incheon to Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, on June 5.
The Incheon to Hakodate route will initially operate twice a week (Thursday and Sunday), departing Incheon International Airport at 1:45 p.m. and arriving at Hakodate Airport at 4:20 p.m. From Hakodate, it will take off at 5:20 p.m. and arrive in Incheon at 8:25 p.m. Starting July 1, the frequency will increase to four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Hakodate has had significant exchanges with the West since the 19th century and is referred to as "Europe within Hokkaido." Jeju Air described it as an optimal place for outdoor activities such as golf and walking tours, even in summer with an average temperature of 20 to 25 degrees.
Jeju Air aims to continuously expand its supply of routes to Japan to enhance consumer convenience.
The Incheon to Fukuoka route, which currently operates 28 times a week, will see an increase to two flights a week from the 16th to the 24th and three flights a week from the 25th to June 30. The Incheon to Hiroshima route will also increase to 13 flights a week by adding two flights a week from the 10th to the 31st.
Additionally, Jeju Air is reviewing increasing the Incheon to Osaka and Shizuoka routes, as well as the Busan to Tokyo (Narita) and Fukuoka routes, by three to 14 times a week.
