Hyundai Motor Group became aware on the morning of 6th of last month that an unauthorized person had accessed the internal server and detected information of group employees. Subsequently, they blocked the IP address used in the breach incident and reported it to the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

Following KISA's recommendations, measures were taken to change the passwords of accounts that had potential leak risks. It was also advised to change the passwords of accounts using the same password as the in-house work system to prevent secondary damage.

The items leaked in this incident include the company names and names of some group employees, account information from the in-house work system, emails, department names, and job titles. However, this security incident is known to be unrelated to customer information, technology, or new vehicle development information.

A representative from Hyundai Motor Group said, "We will do our best to check and strengthen security to prevent cyber breach incidents from happening again."
