Hyundai Motor will unveil 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck' at the 'ACT Expo 2025' and will target the North American logistics transportation market. It will also accelerate its hydrogen business expansion in North America by officially launching the 'HTWO Energy Savannah,' which will serve as a hydrogen and electric integrated charging hub dedicated to large commercial vehicles, starting in the second half of this year.

Hyundai Motor publicly launched 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck' at the 'ACT Expo 2025' at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from April 28 to May 1.

'ACT Expo' is a venue where global eco-friendly commercial vehicle manufacturers, energy companies, parts suppliers, and infrastructure companies come together to share the latest technologies, policies, infrastructure, and industrial trends related to clean transportation. Hyundai Motor has participated since 2022. The newly unveiled 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck' actively incorporated feedback from North American customers regarding the driving experience and underwent vehicle suitability testing considering the diverse and extensive terrain and climate conditions of the North America region.

The vehicle's output has been improved through enhancements in the hydrogen fuel cell system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as front collision prevention assist, lane departure warning, side collision prevention warning, and smart cruise control have been newly incorporated to significantly enhance safety.

Additionally, the digital cluster that provides various vehicle-related information and the next-generation infotainment system (ccNC) display have been expanded to 12.3 inches, and a commercial vehicle-specific map that provides real-time information regarding road entry restrictions has been applied. The built-in storage functionality has also been improved to enhance practicality and convenience. Hyundai Motor will showcase 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck' and the improved hydrogen fuel cell system at this expo and will operate a test drive program for local media and industry stakeholders.

Additionally, Hyundai Motor announced plans to operate 'HTWO Energy,' a new energy business platform that allows simultaneous charging of hydrogen and electricity.

Hyundai Motor will establish 'HTWO Energy Savannah' near the 'Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America (HMGMA)' located in Ellabelle, Georgia. The 'HTWO Energy Savannah' will operate as a facility dedicated to large commercial vehicles, and will be built through collaboration with local partners such as HydroFleet, which is responsible for hydrogen production, supply, charging equipment, and facility investment and operation.

'HTWO Energy Savannah' is designed to produce and charge approximately 1,200 kg of hydrogen per day, sufficient to fully charge about 17 units of 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck,' and is capable of expanding hydrogen supply capacity to up to 4,200 kg per day. 'HTWO Energy Savannah' is set to begin full-scale operation in the second half of this year and will operate 24 hours a day, with plans to add electric charging facilities in the future. Hyundai Motor expects that the operation of 'HTWO Energy Savannah' will revitalize its clean logistics transportation business in the North American market.

Earlier, Hyundai Motor was building a 'hydrogen commercial mobility value chain' that encompasses hydrogen supply and charging station construction, leasing and financing, and maintenance services in the North American region, along with the operation of 30 'XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks' through the 'California Port Clean Truck Initiative (NorCAL ZERO)' last year.

Additionally, at the HMGMA, which held its groundbreaking ceremony last March, a base for an eco-friendly and sustainable logistics system was established using Hyundai Motor Group's world-class hydrogen mobility, and particularly, 21 'XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks' are leading the expansion of the clean energy hydrogen ecosystem by transporting parts.

Ken Ramirez, Vice President of Global Commercial and Hydrogen Business at Hyundai Motor, noted, "We will redefine the future of clean logistics in North America through 'The New XCIENT Fuel Cell Truck,' which has significantly enhanced safety and convenience, and we will lead the establishment of the hydrogen ecosystem in North America in collaboration with not only our group companies but also local partners centered around HTWO."
