HD Hyundai Electric announced on the 29th that it held the kickoff event for its open innovation program 'PowerUp HDE' on the 28th to discover next-generation power technology startups both domestically and internationally. This is interpreted as a strategy to secure next-generation power technology in preparation for the surging global power demand, particularly in industries such as artificial intelligence (AI).
The areas of recruitment include next-generation power necessary for the growth of the power business, eco-friendly energy, and digital transformation. The program will be operated primarily around proof of concept (PoC) projects, and selected startups will be able to collaborate with HD Hyundai Electric’s professionals and conduct technology validation using HD Hyundai Electric's facilities. Once the validation is completed, expansions into follow-up investments, joint commercialization, and long-term partnerships will also be possible.
HD Hyundai Electric plans to start recruiting startups and actively operate its technology development program from June.
