Through this 6G low-orbit satellite communication project, KAI plans to secure competitiveness to meet both domestic and international security and commercialization demands, laying the groundwork for entry into the next-generation global communication infrastructure market.

The government is promoting the independence of core technology through the development of domestic low-orbit satellite communication systems via this project and aims to secure capabilities for entering the global market. The project duration is a total of six years, starting this year until 2030, and a total of 320 billion won will be invested.

The communication payload for the 6G low-orbit satellite and the ground station will be researched and developed by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), while the terminal will be developed by SOLiD.
