Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, will visit South Korea next week to meet with domestic business leaders.

According to business sources on the 27th, Trump Jr. is expected to visit South Korea for a two-day, one-night schedule at the invitation of Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, and hold one-on-one meetings with domestic business owners on the 30th.

Although Trump Jr. has no official position in the second Trump administration, he is regarded as a key figure behind the scenes. With increasing pressure from the Trump administration regarding trade, including reciprocal tariffs, and significant uncertainty, major corporations in South Korea are making various efforts to communicate with the Trump administration.

Trump Jr. is anticipated to meet with leaders of major corporations ranked within the top 10 in the country.

In the business community, it is reported that business leaders from the four major groups, including Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, Chey Tae-won, chairman of Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SK Group, Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Koo Kwang-mo, chairman of LG Group, along with Kim Dong-kwan, vice chairman of Hanwha Group, Heo Tae-soo, chairman of GS Group, and Jang In-hwa, chairman of POSCO Group, are expected to meet with Trump Jr.

Meanwhile, Chung Yong-jin, who is leading Trump Jr.'s visit and meetings with the business community, is reported to accompany Trump Jr. during almost all of his schedule in South Korea. Additionally, it is known that Trump Jr. does not plan to meet with South Korean government officials during this visit.
