The Korea Defense Industry Protection Association, which has been jointly established by the public and private sectors, has been launched. The association will protect domestic defense industry technology from various infringements and play a role in information sharing and export support both domestically and internationally.
On the 24th, the Korea Defense Industry Protection Association held its first regular board meeting at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, and announced on the 25th that it had approved the agenda regarding the future operation plan of the association and this year's business and budget plans.
The Defense Infringement Response Council, which was launched in September 2023 as a voluntary organization for public-private exchanges to respond to defense infringement, has now been elevated to an incorporated association. This year's main business will provide security consulting support to 30 partner companies. Experts will directly visit the partner companies to identify vulnerabilities and difficulties and respond accordingly.
The association will also analyze trends in defense laws and regulations of major overseas countries and carry out customized support projects for member companies. Optimized guidelines for local technology protection abroad will also be established. The inaugural chairperson is Hanwha Aerospace.
