Hyundai Motor Group is collaborating with Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) to lead future mobility innovation in transit-oriented developments and promote the creation of smart cities.
On the 21st, Hyundai Motor Group and Korea Railroad Corporation signed a business agreement to lead future mobility innovation, attended by Vice President Kim Heung-soo from Hyundai Motor Group GSO (Global Strategy Office) and Vice President Jeong Jeong-rae from Korea Railroad Corporation, among other officials from both companies at the Korail Smart Transit-Oriented Development Team in Yongsan, Seoul.
Through this business agreement, both companies will jointly plan the necessary elements for building future mobility infrastructure and create an ecosystem optimized for future solutions such as autonomous driving and demand-responsive mobility throughout the smart city.
Hyundai Motor Group is enhancing its capabilities to implement human-centered smart cities by developing mobility solutions that provide seamless mobility, connecting people using autonomous driving and robotics, and collaborating in various fields to create urban environments and services optimized for future mobility solutions.
Hyundai Motor Group and Korea Railroad Corporation will collaborate on promoting new smart city projects, including the development of transit-oriented development sites and creating future mobility ecosystems both inside and outside of the Korea Railroad Corporation business areas.
Hyundai Motor Group will collaborate on establishing smart city models optimized for future mobility technology by supporting infrastructure and solution plans for future mobility initiatives. Korea Railroad Corporation will take the lead in creating mobility-focused smart cities in transit-oriented development areas through technical cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group.
Vice President Kim Heung-soo from Hyundai Motor Group GSO said, “This business agreement is a very meaningful opportunity to apply future mobility solutions and linked services to transit-oriented developments alongside Korea Railroad Corporation, allowing us to plan a smart city model that will not only enhance convenience in movement but also innovate life experiences.” He noted, “Hyundai Motor Group will seek joint innovations in future mobility infrastructure and solutions between the two companies and will expand strategic cooperation for the development of smart cities.”
