Doosan Fuel Cell announced on the 21st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for 'energy resource flexibility technology cooperation' with Korea Southern Power's New Sejong Bitdream Headquarters and Doosan Enerbility. This collaboration is expected to improve efficiency by integrating the technologies and products of Doosan Fuel Cell and Doosan Enerbility into the combined heat and power plant at the Korea Southern Power's New Sejong Bitdream Headquarters.

These companies will develop a combined heat and power mode (co-generation) that can achieve optimal overall efficiency using hydrogen fuel cells with a capacity of up to 40 megawatts and will also promote the advancement of automatic generation control (AGC) technology for power system stabilization.

The combined heat and power plant at the New Sejong Bitdream Headquarters can produce 630 megawatts of electricity and 340 gigacalories (Gcal/h) of heat using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as the main fuel. Doosan Enerbility supplied the steam turbine, and commercial operation began in June last year.
