Hyundai Motor Company's midsize and large sport utility vehicle (SUV) Palisade has achieved cumulative sales of 500,000 units in the U.S. six years after its launch.

Hyundai Motor Company reported on the 20th that Palisade sales in the U.S. reached 506,425 units by the end of last month. This marks a significant achievement about six years after its first sale began in 2019.

In its first year of launch, Palisade sold 28,736 units, starting from 2020 with sales of 82,661 units, followed by 86,539 units in 2021, and 82,688 units in 2022, consistently recording over 80,000 units.

After unveiling the first partial change model, "The New Palisade," in 2022, sales surged, increasing from 89,509 units in 2023 to 110,55 units last year.

Considering that the global annual sales of Palisade last year were 165,745 units, more than two-thirds were sold in the U.S.

A Hyundai Motor Company official noted, "This achievement in the U.S. market, where there is a high preference for midsize and large SUVs, is significant," and explained, "It is becoming a volume model for the brand, following Tucson, Avante, and Santa Fe."

According to the automotive market research firm Marklines, in the first quarter of this year, the Palisade was included in the sales of midsize and large SUVs (D and E segments) in the U.S. market, accounting for the largest share at 1,474,335 units.

Hyundai Motor Company aims to strengthen its presence in the U.S. with the recently unveiled second-generation completely redesigned model, "The All-New Palisade." The All-New Palisade will begin local sales in the second half of this year, including hybrid and off-road models.
