On the 16th, luxury car brand Cadillac unveiled the luxurious full-size SUV 'The New Escalade' in the country. Sales will also begin.
The Escalade, which has evolved since the launch of the first generation in 1998, has established itself as the standard in the luxury full-size SUV market through cutting-edge technology and bold design language, proving its value with over 1 million units sold in the global market.
The newly unveiled The New Escalade maximizes its presence with newly designed vertical LED lamps and lighting systems at the front and rear, while the 24-inch wheels emphasize a premium lifestyle with second-row executive seats and power open/close door functions.
In addition, advanced comfort features such as the Pillar to Pillar 55-inch curved LED display and the AKG studio reference sound system with up to 40 speakers provide an overwhelming sense of immersion for all passengers.
Yoon Myung-ok, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Head of Communications at GM Korea, noted, 'The New Escalade is a model reimagined with individuality that carries on Cadillac's 123-year heritage while embodying innovation toward the future, appearing more dignified, refined, and intelligent.'
The New Escalade ESV now includes a 'second-row executive seat package' for VIP customers as standard. The core of the package, the second-row 14-way power seats, features adjustable electric positioning, heating, ventilation, massage, and lumbar support functions to provide maximum comfort and relaxation for long-distance travelers.
In particular, the speakers applied to the second-row headrests are adjustable to create a perfect surround system centered around second-row passengers, combined with a 12.6-inch personal display to create an immersive multimedia environment.
Additionally, the LED ambient lights that organically respond to drive modes or passenger preferences offer 126 color options and two independent color zones, enabling various settings. This allows for a unique and personalized lighting experience throughout the interior, especially in conjunction with laser-cut door panels and interior objects.
Furthermore, the newly applied column-mounted electronic gear lever has transformed the center console into a more spacious storage area, while custom wood materials, intricate stitching, and crystal details enhance the overall finish of the interior.
The interior colors of The New Escalade are based on Jet Black, with options for Whisper Beige with Jet Black Accents in the standard model and Sheer Gray with Jet Black Accents in the ESV model.
The New Escalade has reinterpreted Cadillac's signature design philosophy in a modern way, maintaining the brand's unique heritage while embodying innovative changes.
The newly designed LED lamps and lighting systems give a bold impression to the front and rear of the vehicle, reinforcing brand identity. The newly applied vertical LED headlamps at the front have completed a more sophisticated and futuristic style, deviating from the existing horizontal/vertical configurations. Additionally, an illuminated front crest with ambient lighting is standard, with surround grill lighting added in the premium luxury platinum trim.
These changes to the front reflect the design language applied to Cadillac EVs, including the LYRIQ, particularly showcasing overwhelming lighting effects in dark underground parking lots or at night, providing a vibrant and intense presence unique to Cadillac.
The rear of the vehicle has also been upgraded to a more refined state. Adjustments to the taillight position and improvements to the window design have enhanced the modern impression compared to the previous model, with the iconic approximately 1-meter-long massive blade LED taillights, lower bumper, and integrated exhaust redesigned to embody luxury and ruggedness.
The exterior colors of The New Escalade can be selected from five options, including the existing two colors, Black Raven and Crystal White Tricoat, along with Galactic Gray Metallic, Argent Silver Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.
Additionally, the largest 24-inch wheels in Escalade history have been newly implemented, enhancing the overwhelming presence of the full-size SUV while delivering stable and agile driving performance.
The New Escalade is equipped with the Pillar to Pillar 55-inch Curved LED Display that stretches from one pillar to the opposite pillar, presenting a stunning design that overwhelms the entire interior.
Comprising an 8K resolution 35-inch driver screen and a 4K 20-inch passenger screen, this display not only clearly presents driving-related information and infotainment systems but also operates optimally with wireless Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. Furthermore, the newly mounted command center provides an interface for direct access to functions such as climate control, seat adjustments, and power open/close door functions, allowing both the driver and passenger to operate additional vehicle functions conveniently.
The power open/close door function, supported by power assist, is newly applied in The New Escalade. The doors can be opened and closed in various ways, including outdoor door handle switches, indoor door levers, first-row/second-row command centers, and brake pedal operations, providing significantly enhanced convenience for entering and exiting the vehicle.
The AKG® studio reference audio system, exclusive to the Escalade, is also present. Notably, in The New Escalade ESV, four speakers have been added to the second-row headrests, achieving perfect 3D surround sound through a total of 40 speakers. Additionally, independent audio settings for each seat can be adjusted through the settings menu, allowing the driver and passengers to enjoy different music.
The New Escalade also features OnStar, GM's global connectivity service. Vehicles equipped with OnStar can connect easily to the vehicle anytime, anywhere using a mobile app, providing remote controls (engine start, interior temperature settings, door locking/unlocking, horn, emergency lights, liftgate unlocking), vehicle status information (mileage, tire pressure, fuel levels, engine oil life, fuel efficiency), and expanded digital experiences.
In addition, the head-up display (HUD) and active safety features, well-received in the previous Escalade model, have been upgraded, and a night vision system has been retained to significantly enhance visibility and safety while driving at night.
The driving performance and powertrain are also core competencies of The New Escalade. Designed based on Cadillac's 'Isolated Precision' driving philosophy, it maximizes the connection with the road while remaining quiet.
Cadillac's signature technology, the Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 system, adjusts the suspension damping force in real time through precise road data analysis over 1,000 times per second, providing optimal ride comfort based on road conditions or driving situations. Combined with the adaptive air ride suspension, it lowers the height for stability during high-speed driving and adjusts height for convenience and driving efficiency during low-speed and embarkation/disembarkation.
Additionally, the independent front and rear suspensions effectively suppress body roll, enabling agile and stable driving despite being a large SUV. This driving technology particularly shines during high-speed driving, realizing a luxurious ride quality befitting a premium SUV.
The New Escalade is equipped with a 6.2L V8 gasoline direct injection engine boasting a maximum output of 426 horsepower and a maximum torque of 63.6 kg•m, featuring Dynamic Fuel Management, a function that varies engine cylinder operation patterns based on driving conditions to provide optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
The New Escalade will be released in standard and extended wheelbase versions, called 'The New Escalade ESV,' with options for two trims: premium luxury platinum and sports platinum for each. The domestic launch prices, based on the special consumption tax of 3.5%, are 166.07 million won for The New Escalade and 188.07 million won for The New Escalade ESV, with the same pricing across trims.
