The new head of the HMG Washington office, Ferguson, is a four-term Republican Congressman from Georgia and is known to have a high understanding of the policies of the Trump administration.

During the Trump administration's first term, Ferguson supported and promoted key policies such as the revival of manufacturing and job creation in the U.S., as well as tax reform. In particular, he played a key role in legislative activities aimed at strengthening the manufacturing base and in advancing policies within the Republican Party.

He is also evaluated as familiar with Hyundai Motor Group, having engaged in legislative activities for a long time in Georgia, where major production bases such as Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America (HMGMA) are located.

A Hyundai Motor Group official noted, "With the recruitment of Ferguson as the new head of the HMG Washington office, we expect to communicate more smoothly with the U.S. government and respond more swiftly to policy changes in the U.S."
